Agriculture takes center stage in Ticino in 2024
Ticino will host the Swiss Agriculture Fair (OLMA) in 2024, marking the first time the event will be held outside its traditional home in Zurich.
The fair, which is one of the largest agricultural events in Europe, will be held in the town of Biasca from September 12-22, 2024. The event is expected to attract over 300,000 visitors and will feature a wide range of exhibits, demonstrations, and competitions related to agriculture, forestry, and food production.
The decision to hold the fair in Ticino was made by the Swiss Farmers' Association, which organizes the event. The association said that it wanted to highlight the importance of agriculture in the canton of Ticino and to promote the region's agricultural products.
OLMA is a major economic and cultural event for Ticino, and it is expected to generate millions of francs in revenue for the region.
The fair will also provide an opportunity for farmers and other agricultural professionals to network and learn about the latest trends in the industry.
In addition to the agricultural exhibits, OLMA will also feature a number of cultural events, including concerts, exhibitions, and traditional Swiss folk dancing.
