Comedian receives the German Comedy Award

The German Comedy Award went to comedian Teddy Teclebrhan for his program "Teddy's Show". Friday evening in Cologne, the 38-year-old was honored in the category "Best Stand-Up National".

From September 2022, the new program will be available on Netflix. In his program, Teclebrhan talks about growing up in Germany as the son of Eritrean parents, about everyday experiences with racism and the difficulties of finding an apartment in Berlin.

"I'm just a comedian doing his job," Teclebrhan said, visibly moved, when accepting the award. "It's a great honor for me to receive this award tonight." This is the comedian's first German Comedy Award.
