Bayern Munich open to letting Sabitzer leave to sign Florian Wirtz
Current Bayern star unhappy with playing time
Bayern Munich are reportedly open to allowing Marcel Sabitzer to leave the club in order to sign highly-rated Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz.
Wirtz a long-term target
Wirtz, 19, has been a long-term target for Bayern, and the Bundesliga champions are believed to be preparing a big-money offer for the Germany international.
Sabitzer, 28, has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at Bayern since joining from RB Leipzig in 2021, and he is said to be unhappy with his lack of playing time.
The Austria international has made just 12 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern this season, and he has started only four of those games.
Sabitzer willing to leave
According to Sky Sports Germany, Sabitzer is now willing to leave Bayern in order to get more regular playing time.
The report claims that Bayern are willing to let Sabitzer leave if they can sign Wirtz, who is seen as a potential long-term replacement for Thomas Muller.
Wirtz would be expensive
However, Wirtz would be an expensive signing, with Leverkusen reportedly demanding a fee of around €100 million for the youngster.
Bayern are also interested in signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, but the England international is expected to cost even more than Wirtz.
