Beloved Dota 2 voice actor Grant Goggans has passed away
Goggans, who voiced popular heroes Viper, Dragon Knight and Night Stalker, died on January 8.
Grant Goggans, the voice actor behind some of Dota 2's most iconic heroes, has passed away. He was 51.
Goggans' death was confirmed by his wife, Laura Gaydos, in a Facebook post on January 9th. She wrote that Goggans had been battling cancer and died peacefully at home in his sleep.
"Grant was a wonderful husband, father, stepfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend," Gaydos wrote. "He was also an incredibly talented voice actor whose work brought joy to millions of Dota 2 players around the world.
Goggans voiced around 30 characters in Dota 2, including Viper, Dragon Knight, and Night Stalker.
He also voiced characters in other popular games, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Fallout 4, and Skyrim.
Goggans' passing is a huge loss for the Dota 2 community. His voice helped to bring the game's heroes to life and his performances will be missed by fans around the world.
