Coventry City Sack Manager Mark Robins
BREAKING: Mark Robins Leaves Coventry City After Four Years
Coventry City have announced that they have parted company with manager Mark Robins after nearly four years in charge.
The Sky Blues have endured a difficult season, sitting 21st in the Championship table and just one point above the relegation zone.
Robins, 53, led Coventry to the League One title in 2020 and also won the EFL Trophy in 2017.
However, the club have struggled for consistency in recent months, winning just one of their last seven league games.
Assistant manager Adi Viveash has also left the club.
Coventry will now begin the search for a new manager.
Robins' Record at Coventry
Robins took charge of Coventry in March 2017, with the club bottom of League Two.
He led them to safety that season and then won the EFL Trophy the following year.
In 2019-20, Robins guided Coventry to the League One title, securing promotion to the Championship.
However, the Sky Blues have struggled in the second tier, finishing 16th in 2020-21 and 12th last season.
Coventry's Current Situation
Coventry are currently 21st in the Championship table, one point above the relegation zone.
They have won just one of their last seven league games and have conceded 30 goals in their last 10 matches.
The Sky Blues' next game is against Rotherham United on Saturday.
Contenders to Replace Robins
Coventry are likely to receive plenty of applications for the vacant manager's job.
Some of the potential candidates include:
- Russell Martin (Swansea City)
- Liam Manning (MK Dons)
- Leam Richardson (Wigan Athletic)
- Steven Schumacher (Plymouth Argyle)
- Johnnie Jackson (AFC Wimbledon)
Coventry will be hoping to appoint a new manager as soon as possible, with the club facing a relegation battle.
