Danny's looking forward to first taste of Steel City derby

Doncaster boss Danny Schofield says he cannot wait to experience the Steel City derby at Bramall Lane for the first time as a manager.

The two sides are set to meet for the first time since April 2019, with both sides having been in different divisions since.

It is the first of two South Yorkshire derbies for Rovers this season, with a trip to Oakwell to face Barnsley also on the agenda.

Schofield knows the significance of the game to the Doncaster faithful and is eager to give them something to cheer about.

"I'm really looking forward to it," he said. "I know how much it means to the fans and the people of Doncaster, and I'm desperate to get a positive result for them.

"It's going to be a tough game, but we're confident we can go there and get something. We've got a good squad, and we're starting to gel as a team.

"It's going to be a great atmosphere, I'm sure, and I can't wait to experience it."
