About Veterans Day
Veterans Day is a federal holiday in the United States that honors military veterans who have served in the United States Armed Forces. It is celebrated annually on November 11, regardless of the day of the week.
Originally known as Armistice Day, the holiday was established to commemorate the anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended World War I on November 11, 1918, at 11:00 AM. In 1954, the holiday was renamed Veterans Day to honor all veterans who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

The El Paso Veterans Day Parade is an annual event that honors military veterans in the El Paso area.
2024 Parade Information
The 2024 El Paso Veterans Day Parade will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024. The parade will begin at 11:00 AM and will proceed down Montana Avenue from Schuster Avenue to Ochoa Street.
The parade will feature a variety of participants, including military veterans, active-duty military personnel, JROTC units, marching bands, and floats.
The parade is a free event and open to the public. Spectators are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to sit on along the parade route.
Parade Route
The parade route will begin at Schuster Avenue and Montana Avenue and will proceed east on Montana Avenue to Ochoa Street.
The parade will disband at Ochoa Street and Montana Avenue.
Parking
There is limited parking available along the parade route. Spectators are encouraged to park in the surrounding neighborhoods or at the Sun Bowl Stadium.
