FC Khimki Goalkeeper Sergei Terekhov Miss Weekend Match
FC Khimki goalkeeper Sergei Terekhov will miss this weekend’s match against FC Rostov due to a muscle injury.
Terekhov, who has been a key player for Khimki this season, picked up the injury in training this week. The club has confirmed that the injury is not serious, but Terekhov will not be fit to play in Saturday’s match.
Khimki manager Igor Cherevchenko said: “It is a blow to lose Sergei for this weekend’s match. He has been in excellent form for us this season, and he will be a big miss."
Terekhov’s injury is a boost for FC Rostov, who are looking to move into the top half of the table. Rostov manager Valeri Karpin said: “We are aware of Terekhov’s injury, and we will be looking to take advantage of his absence.”
Khimki are currently 12th in the Russian Premier League, while Rostov are 10th. The match between the two sides will be played on Saturday, August 27, at the Arena Khimki.
