Two of the biggest names in Major League Soccer will collide on Sunday, October 23, as Inter Miami CF, led by global superstar Lionel Messi, travels to Atlanta to take on Atlanta United FC in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
The match will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, with kickoff set for 3:00 PM EST. Fans can watch the game live on ESPN and ESPN+
Inter Miami, the No. 6 seed in the East, advanced to the semifinals after defeating the No. 3 seed Philadelphia Union 3-0 in the first round. Messi scored one of the goals in the victory.
Atlanta United, the No. 2 seed in the East, earned a bye to the semifinals. The Five Stripes finished the regular season with a 19-11-6 record, good for second place in the Eastern Conference.
The match is expected to be a close one. Inter Miami has been one of the most in-form teams in MLS since Messi joined the club in August. The Argentine has scored seven goals and provided five assists in 10 appearances for Inter Miami.
Atlanta United, however, is a formidable opponent, especially at home. The Five Stripes have lost just once at Mercedes-Benz Stadium this season.
The winner of the match will advance to the Eastern Conference final, where they will face either the New England Revolution or FC Cincinnati.
