LATAM Airlines to Invest $7.5 Million in New Brazilian Maintenance Hangar
LATAM Airlines Group, Latin America's largest airline, plans to invest 40 million Brazilian reals ($7.5 million) in a new maintenance hangar in Brazil.
The new facility, located at São Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), will be LATAM's largest maintenance center in Brazil and one of its most advanced in the region.
The new hangar will cover an area of 10,000 square meters and will be able to accommodate up to four Airbus A320 or Boeing 737 aircraft simultaneously.
It will be equipped with cutting-edge technology, including automated systems and specialized tools, to provide a wide range of maintenance services, including heavy checks, engine overhauls, and aircraft modifications.
The new hangar is part of LATAM's broader strategy to invest in its maintenance operations in Brazil and to position itself as a leading provider of maintenance services in the region.
LATAM currently has three maintenance hangars in Brazil, located in Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, and Porto Alegre.
The new hangar in São Paulo will allow LATAM to consolidate its maintenance operations in Brazil and to offer a more comprehensive range of services to its customers.
The investment in the new hangar is also expected to create new jobs and boost the local economy.
LATAM Airlines Group is a leading provider of passenger and cargo transportation services in Latin America, with operations in 15 countries and more than 60 destinations.
The group has a fleet of more than 330 aircraft and carries over 70 million passengers annually.
