Lest we forget – Market Harborough care home creates spectacular recycled poppy display
In the run up to Remembrance Day and Armistice Day, residents at a Market Harborough care home have created a beautiful cascade of remembrance poppies.
The poppies cascaded from the ceiling, creating a stunning and poignant display in the communal areas of the home.
Created from cuttings of recycled magazines, the poppies were lovingly crafted by residents over several weeks, providing a wonderful talking point and opportunity to reminisce.
Margaret, a resident at the care home, said: “This has been such a lovely experience, to be able to sit together and create something so beautiful.”
Julie, the home manager, added: “This has been a fantastic activity for our residents, bringing them together in a shared purpose and providing a wonderful tribute to those who fought and died for our freedom.
