Manchester United and Everton Boost Survival Hopes With Premier League Wins
Sean Dyche Earns First Win as Everton Boss
Manchester United and Everton boosted their hopes of avoiding relegation from the Premier League with wins on Saturday. United beat Leeds 2-0, while Everton defeated Arsenal 1-0. The results leave United in 13th place, seven points above the relegation zone, and Everton in 18th, one point from safety.
Sean Dyche took charge of Everton for the first time and saw his team earn a vital victory. James Tarkowski scored the only goal of the game in the 60th minute.
Manchester United Continue Resurgence Under Erik ten Hag
Erik ten Hag's Manchester United continued their resurgence with a comfortable win over Leeds. Marcus Rashford scored both goals for United, taking his tally for the season to 21.
The win was United's fourth in a row in the Premier League and moved them up to 13th place. They are now seven points clear of the relegation zone and have a game in hand on the teams below them.
Liverpool's top-four hopes suffered a blow as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Crystal Palace.
The result leaves Liverpool in eighth place, six points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur. They have played a game more than Spurs, however.
Liverpool dominated possession and had the better chances, but they could not find a way past Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.
The draw was a frustrating result for Liverpool, who need to start winning games if they want to qualify for the Champions League next season.
