POL-DA: Bickenbach: House fire in an apartment building

Fire brigade and police were deployed to an apartment building in Bickenbach on Tuesday afternoon.

According to initial findings, a fire broke out in a basement apartment for reasons that are still unclear. When the fire brigade arrived on the scene around 3:30 p.m., heavy smoke was already billowing from the windows. Two residents were rescued by firefighters and paramedics from the smoke-filled building. The fire brigade was able to quickly extinguish the fire, but the basement apartment was badly damaged. The two rescued residents were taken to a nearby hospital for examination. The police have started investigations into the cause of the fire.

The fire brigade was on duty with a total of seven vehicles and 20 firefighters. An ambulance and a doctor were also on site.
