Poppy barrier on historic North East footpath completed in time for Remembrance day
WW1 poppy barrier created to mark Armistice Day anniversary.
The final section of poppies was installed this week.
A poppy barrier has been completed on a historic North East footpath in time for Remembrance Day. The barrier has been placed along a section of the A189 Spine Road in Cramlington, Northumberland. It is made up of hundreds of wooden posts adorned with paper poppies.
A team of volunteers has been working on the project since August. The final section of poppies was installed this week. The barrier is now complete and stretches for over 100 meters.
The poppy barrier was created to mark the centenary of the end of World War I. It is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by those who fought and died in the conflict. The barrier will be in place until November 11th, Armistice Day.
