Remembrance Day 2023: What's happening in Guelph
Guelph Legion Branch 234 will be hosting a number of events to commemorate Remembrance Day on Friday, November 11.
The day will begin with a parade that will form up on Gordon Street at 10:30 am and proceed to the cenotaph in front of City Hall for a ceremony at 11:00 am.
There will also be a wreath-laying ceremony at the cenotaph at 12:30 pm, followed by a reception at the Legion.
The Legion will also be holding a Remembrance Day dinner at the hall on Saturday, November 12 at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the Legion.
In addition to the Legion's events, there will also be a number of other Remembrance Day events happening in Guelph.
The Guelph Public Library will be hosting a Remembrance Day ceremony at the main branch on Saturday, November 12 at 10:30 am. The ceremony will include readings, music, and a moment of silence.
The University of Guelph will be holding a Remembrance Day ceremony at War Memorial Hall on Friday, November 11 at 11:00 am. The ceremony will include a wreath-laying ceremony, a reading of the Act of Remembrance, and a moment of silence.
