Six injured in train and truck accident in Neuwied-Oberbieber

On Tuesday morning, there was an accident at a level crossing in Neuwied-Oberbieber. According to the police, a train and a truck collided. Six people were injured in the collision.

The accident happened around 10:45 a.m. at the level crossing on the Landesstraße 256. For reasons that are still unclear, a truck and a train of the Rhein-Sieg-Express collided. The force of the impact was so great that the truck was thrown several meters.

The six injured people were taken to hospitals by ambulance. According to the police, the truck driver was seriously injured. The train driver and four passengers were slightly injured.

The fire brigade, rescue service and police were on duty with a large contingent. The level crossing was closed for several hours. The train traffic was interrupted.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated by the police.
