Students plan pro-Palestine protests on Remembrance Day
Protestors will be demonstrating against the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the recent violence in Gaza on Remembrance Day.
Students at the University of Toronto are planning a pro-Palestine protest on Remembrance Day, November 11th. The protest is being organized by the University of Toronto Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and will take place at King's College Circle at 12 pm.
The protest is being held in solidarity with the people of Palestine and to protest the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the recent violence in Gaza.
The protest is expected to draw a large crowd, and the organizers are asking for all participants to be respectful and peaceful. They are also asking for participants to wear masks and practice social distancing.
The protest is part of a larger movement of solidarity with Palestine that has been growing in recent years. There have been a number of other pro-Palestine protests on university campuses across Canada in recent months.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a complex and long-standing one. The two sides have been fighting for control of the land of Palestine for decades. The conflict has resulted in the deaths of thousands of people and the displacement of millions more.
The international community has called for a two-state solution to the conflict, but no such solution has been implemented. The two sides are still far apart on many of the key issues, including the borders of the two states and the status of Jerusalem.
The protest on Remembrance Day is a reminder that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is still a major issue in the world today. The students who are organizing the protest are calling for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine and a just solution to the conflict.
