Tony Todd, star of Candyman and Final Destination, dies
American actor Tony Todd, best known for his roles in the horror films Candyman and Final Destination, has died at the age of 60.
His agent confirmed the news to Variety, but no cause of death has yet been released.
Todd was born in Washington, D.C., and began his acting career in the early 1980s.
He made his film debut in 1986's Platoon, and went on to star in a number of films and television shows, including Night of the Living Dead, The Crow, and Transformers.
However, it was his role as the titular Candyman in the 1992 horror film that made him a household name.
Todd reprised the role in two sequels, and also appeared in the 2021 reboot of the franchise.
He also played the role of Death in the Final Destination franchise, appearing in five of the six films.
Todd was a talented actor who brought a sense of menace and charisma to his roles.
He will be sadly missed by his fans and colleagues.
