Annual event to honour veterans and fallen soldiers
The Whitecourt Legion is inviting the public to join them in commemorating Remembrance Day 2024. The annual event honours veterans and fallen soldiers who have served and sacrificed for Canada.
Ceremonies will be held at the Whitecourt Cenotaph
The ceremonies will be held at the Whitecourt Cenotaph on November 11, 2024. The day's events will include a parade, wreath-laying ceremony, and a moment of silence. The parade will begin at 10:45 am, and the ceremony will begin at 11:00 am.
Legion members encourage public participation
The Legion members encourage the public to attend the ceremonies and show their support for veterans and fallen soldiers. The event is a way to remember the sacrifices that have been made for Canada, and to honour those who have served.
Public invited to lay wreaths
The public is invited to lay wreaths at the Cenotaph. Wreaths can be purchased at the Whitecourt Legion, or they can be made at home. The Legion asks that wreaths be placed at the Cenotaph by 10:45 am on November 11.
