Tottenham have been dealt a fresh injury blow ahead of their FA Cup clash against Ipswich Town, with Rodrigo Bentancur ruled out.

The Uruguayan midfielder has been struggling with an ankle problem and missed Tottenham's last two Premier League games.

And now, the club's doctor has revealed that Bentancur is still not fully fit and will not be able to play a full part in the FA Cup tie.

"Rodrigo has been making good progress in his recovery from an ankle injury," the doctor said.

"However, he is not yet fully fit and will not be able to play a full part in the FA Cup game against Ipswich Town."

"We expect him to be back in full training next week and available for selection for our next Premier League game."

Bentancur's absence is a blow to Tottenham, who are already without a number of other players due to injury.

Cristian Romero, Richarlison, and Yves Bissouma are all out, while Hugo Lloris and Ryan Sessegnon are doubts.

Tottenham will be hoping to avoid any further injuries ahead of their FA Cup clash against Ipswich Town, which takes place on Saturday, January 7.
