Salisbury Remembrance Sunday: Timings and road closures
Timings for Remembrance Sunday parade and service
The Remembrance Sunday parade will assemble at St Paul's Roundabout at 10.15am on Sunday 13 November, before making its way to the war memorial in front of Salisbury Cathedral for an 11am service.
The service will be led by the Very Reverend Nicholas Papadopulos, Dean of Salisbury, and will include readings, prayers, and the laying of wreaths by representatives of the armed forces, civic dignitaries, and local organisations.
The parade will then return to St Paul's Roundabout, where it will be dismissed at approximately 12.15pm.
Road closures
The following roads will be closed to traffic on Remembrance Sunday:
- Castle Street (from the junction with St Thomas's Square to the junction with New Canal)
- New Canal (from the junction with Castle Street to the junction with Milford Street)
- Milford Street (from the junction with New Canal to the junction with St Ann's Street)
- St Ann's Street (from the junction with Milford Street to the junction with St Thomas's Square)
The roads will be closed from 10am to 12.30pm.
Other events
In addition to the parade and service, there will be a number of other events taking place in Salisbury on Remembrance Sunday, including:
- A wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial in Churchill Gardens at 10.45am
- A concert by the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra at Salisbury Cathedral at 3pm
- A screening of the film "The King's Speech" at Salisbury Arts Centre at 7pm
