Tatarasova: Trusova will not qualify for the 2026 Olympics in the current form

The honored coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova spoke about the chances of figure skater Alexandra Trusova to qualify for the 2026 Olympic Games. According to the specialist, at the moment the athlete is not ready to compete for a ticket to Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.

"Sasha is in great shape now, but there is still a lot of work to be done technically. Her content is very difficult, but she does not always perform it cleanly. In order to qualify for the Olympic Games, she needs to stabilize her jumps and start winning major tournaments. At the moment, she is not ready for this," Tarasova said in an interview with the Championship.

Trusova is a two-time world silver medalist (2021, 2022) and bronze medalist in the Russian national team championship (2022). At the Beijing Olympics, she finished second, losing to compatriot Anna Shcherbakova.

In the new season, Trusova moved from coach Eteri Tutberidze to Svetlana Sokolovskaya.
