Wok WM in Winterberg 2024: Teams wurden vorgestellt und Qualifying

Teams are presented and qualifying takes place

The teams for the Wok World Championships (Wok WM) in Winterberg 2024 were presented on Friday. A total of 14 teams from eight nations will compete in the competition. Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Belgium and the Czech Republic will be represented at the start.

The Wok WM is a fun sporting event in which teams compete against each other in self-made woks. The woks are pushed down an icy track. The event has been held since 2003 and has attracted a large number of spectators every year.

Qualifying

The qualifying for the Wok World Championships 2024 took place on Saturday. The teams had to complete two runs on the icy track. The best time of each team was counted for the overall ranking.

The German team "Die Wokkings" set the best time in qualifying. They completed the track in a time of 53.44 seconds. The Austrian team "Die Wok Stars" came second in 54.03 seconds. The Swiss team "Die Wok Racers" came third in 54.21 seconds.

The top six teams from the qualifying will start the final on Sunday. The other teams will compete in the consolation race.
